Hub as well to help increase accessibility of clean energy jobs and services in our
region. I grew up in Loudonville, NY and studied Environmental Studies at SUNY-ESF. I
have always been very passionate about sustainability and social justice, which is why
I was immediately drawn to Radix when I moved back to Albany. This place has given me
so many opportunities to connect with our community and learn new things, and
I am very grateful to be a part of this team!
In my free time, I love being outside, painting, reading/writing, spending time with my
family, and most importantly, hanging out with my cats.
I came to Radix in 2023 with over a decade of experience in organic gardening, farming and production, but I have learned so much about urban farming and sustainable systems since I started working here. I received my degree in Environmental Studies from Paul Smith’s College in 2011 and mostly lived in rural areas all my life. When I moved to Albany in 2020 I fell in love with the city. Working at Radix has brought me many new experiences and connections with the community which I hope to continue to grow and develop. Aside from growing organic, fresh food; working with youth employees, school groups, interns and volunteers has been a very exciting component to my role as Farm Manager. Creating a network of folks who strive to improve the lives and health of people in this city, especially those who live in the South End is a meaningful aspect of the work we do here.
I grew up in Troy and fell in love with Radix as an intern in the early years of the center. I bring years of experience working on vegetable farms and summer camp farm programs, as well as caretaking fruit trees and perennial foodscapes. I studied Environmental Science at Hudson Valley Community College. I see Radix as the perfect place to engage youth in discussions about social and ecological justice while learning how to grow food and tend to beautiful green spaces.
Hi!! I’m Lillian, I am the Environmental Workforce Coordinator for Radix! My job is to help our youth and community members find a job or career in the environmental field. I represent Radix in the Capital Region Clean Energy Hub, a New York State initiative made up of eight community organizations aimed to assist in the implementation of NYS climate goals alongside working with community members like you to transition to clean energy services and workforce opportunities!
An Albany native growing up in Arbor Hill. I started working at Radix in high school as a youth employee, it was one of my first jobs and opened my eyes to not just the environment but also the community as a whole. I love working here because everyday I learn something new! I currently work as a Youth Employment Instructor and Bike Route Compost Collector.
I have worked with Radix for two years now retrieving compost from local residents as a Bike Route Compost Collector. In the past I have volunteered with the Albany Bike Rescue. I love riding bikes and being a part of an organization that values sustainability and community. I enjoy seeing the different events and classes that are held at Radix and of course I enjoy stopping by and saying hello to the chickens.
Hi Scott,
Caught your presentation at the SolarFest in Vermont this past month and thought it was just great. You are a very engaging speaker. It was amazing the number of subjects you were able to address in such a short time period with, I think, just enought information to spur the interest of the audience to look into the subjects further.

Amazing! I am originally from Schenectady, NY and now living in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, but heard about your organization through a Turkish Permaculture group. What a small world. Glad to have found you and interested to take a look at what you’re doing. Salam!

Scotty and Tracy – great to keep up with your new activities and growth in the NE. Awesome work – congratulations on the new Radix Center and good luck. Your professional pedigree gets longer and longer – just great.
We are watching you now from St. Petersburg, FL and a great senior condo overlooking Tampa Bay. getting into PC, local food, social justice, junior youth programs – trying to not be senior in spirit, energy, or actions/programs – trying to wear out vs rust out. I hope to see you at NOFA in August if our Martha’s Vineyard schedule permits.
regards and best wishes

It is truly inspirational to see what my cousin is doing for the environment. He is an example for all who deeply care about creation and sustainability
Hope to see you soon Scott!
Scott is the best and we are so lucky to have the center locally in Troy, NY! Let’s get more mycorafts into the Hudson River this year for wetlands restoration okay?
