Radix Internship Program

At Radix Center we work year round to educate local youth, support our community and maintain a one-acre urban farm with demonstrations of gardens, composting, micro livestock, rainwater harvesting, renewable energy, beekeeping, and more. We strive to have these systems replicated in a decentralized network throughout the city. More broadly, we support and advocate for environmental justice causes in the region.

We accept interns on a rolling basis, but our busiest months are between March and November. To be considered for the program you must be reliable, self-motivated and eager to learn. Applicants should be comfortable working physically outdoors in hot summer weather conditions with plants, insects, soils, compost, dogs, and micro livestock (chickens and ducks). The ideal applicant will be capable of working both in groups and individually. Qualified candidates must be able to lift 50lbs and perform manual labor tasks, which include bending, squatting and standing for long periods of time.

Interns will assist with the following tasks on a weekly basis

Farming Chores
Watering greenhouse, high-tunnel, potted plants and gardens
Wedding, harvesting and planting throughout entire season
Landscaping, upkeep and general maintenance of the property
Street tree watering and neighborhood trash pick up

Micro livestock Chores
